Saints 13-0 against point spread in month of October

Fall weather still hasn't caught up with the calendar, but here's something Saints fans might find pretty cool: in the month of October, the New Orleans Saints are undefeated against the point spread.

"It seems October is a very profitable month for Saints betters, backers, fans," said Scott Cooley, spokesman for the web site sportsbetting.ag. "In the last 13 October games, dating back to Week 5 of the 2015 season, the Saints are actually 13-0 against the spread."

Cooley says the Saints overall record in that time is 12-1, but this Sunday, the Saints are favored by a field goal over the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Teddy Bridgewater and company have been on a tear.

"Last few weeks, Teddy Bridgewater's played fantastic," said Cooley. "They use Taysom Hill in a great, creative way. Then going to Seattle, getting a big win there, beating the Cowboys last Sunday night."

Cooley said the line has come down a few points since the Saints opened as six-point favorites, with some bettors expecting a let down at some point. But the Saints still maintain an edge.
