The NFL draft begins this evening but the Saints don't pick until round 2 with the 62nd pick so Saints fans will have to be patient. However, they do have their opinions as to whether the Black and Gold should make a blockbuster trade to move up to the first round.
We talked to some downtown.
"I say stay where they are. That first round pick was last year, so not having one this year, they can get by without," said one man. "Maybe this year, they should look for another offensive weapon."
"I think they should move up in the first round, because we need a pass rusher on defense," said this fan who knows her football.
"I'm not sure, but I trust in Sean Payton and Mr. Loomis, so whatever they decide, I'm good with," another fan said.
"We may not be able to get up that high unless we give away some first rounders for the next couple of year," said this man.
I think they should so we can get a good wide receiver, an explosive wide receiver, to help Michael Thomas out," said another worker downtown. "We have to win now."
The Saints last 5 picks all fall within the final 76 selections.
