Early morning flames laid waste to an iconic art-deco era concrete and wood warehouse behind San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf.
The warehouse, which store many items used by vendors and working fisherman in the area broke out before sunrise.
Flames from the fire threatened to spread to the S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien, one of two remaining World War II Liberty Ships still in its original condition.
The O'Brien was protected by a pair of fireboat dispatched from the SFFD Fireboat station at the Ferry Building.
While the back half of Pier 45's warehouse was destroyed firefighters kept the flames from consuming the rest of the Pier and the world famous collection of seafood restaurants at Fisherman's Wharf.
There is no word on injuries from the blaze.
No cause is known at this time.
