The NOPD is investigating the second homicide this year. It happened today at the intersection of Louisiana and South Claiborne avenues that claimed the life of a victim.
At about 5:37 p.m., NOPD cops responded to a call of a traffic crash at the intersection of Louisiana Avenue and Toledano streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered a pickup truck having crashed into a utility pole and a male victim inside of the truck. The victim was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Additionally, a female victim was reportedly struck by a vehicle at the scene. No additional details are available at this time as to any possible injuries or possible involvement in this incident.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
