The Gulf's biggest player in oil exploration and production is evacuating all non-essential platform employees from the company's rigs.
The move comes in advance of the Gulf's first tropical depression forming in the extreme eastern waters.
Shell issued a statement about their saying they anticipated minimal impacts to oil production as a result of Invest 92, and are continuing to watch the storm, taking further action as needed.
According to the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate other Gulf well operators like BP, Anadarko, Chevron and LLOG have not released any statements about their storm preparations.
