A popular music venue and seafood restaurant in Slidell closes its doors because of the pandemic.

The owners of Speckled T’s on S. Military Road in Slidell announced they are permanently closing their restaurant due to the challenges they faced during the coronavirus pandemic.

Owners Delena and Scott Esteve made the announcement on the restaurant’s Facebook page.  They said their focus now shifts to their “sister” location at the Camellia Café. There they will continue to deliver event-catering service.

“We all know COVID-19 has thrown a major curve ball on all restaurants in our area, but unfortunately with not being able to do our live entertainment on top of that has just caused us to make some harsh decisions and do what’s best for us,” the owners wrote on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The add, “This is not good bye, but see you soon. You will see us at the cafe and attending, or hosting, events in our community. I love Slidell, I was born and raised here and it’s always been home. Our patrons have supported our restaurants here for over 16 years and we could never thank you enough for that.”

The owners say employees at the Speckled T’s restaurant will have the opportunity to transfer to the Camellia Café.
