We got a southern soaker around much of the area today, especially areas north of the lake. WWL-TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says most of the rain will come to an end tonight, but we are in store for more of it tomorrow.

“Much-needed rain in the forecast again Friday, however we probably won't see any may heavy  downpours as Thursday,” said Franklin. “Rain will come to an end in the evening with mostly cloudy skies and mild temps.”

The forecast calls for a clearer day on Saturday.

“A mostly dry day is expected Saturday as the deep moisture is being cut off thanks to the developing tropical system off the Florida east coast,” said Franklin. “By Sunday, we'll be watching anther upper low which will strengthen over east Texas before moving in our direction Sunday.”

Rain chances Sunday are 70 percent, and some strong to severe storms could occur.
