Slidell daycare worker out on bond

A Slidell daycare worker is out on a $35,000 bond after St Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested her for allegedly breaking the arm of a 2-year-old child in her care.

This happened last week according to a STPSO release. It says, workers at a daycare on Rosemeade Drive in Slidell called the parents to inform them their child was injured. The parents took their child to a hospital where x-rays confirmed they child’s arm was broken.

The parents then contacted the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office who began to investigate the incident.

Through the investigation, deputies discovered the worker, 34-year-old Leann Simon, allegedly grabbed the child’s arm and twisted it behind the child’s back then lifted the child off the ground by the arm.

She was booked Tuesday on one count of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.
