The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office today arrested and fired a patrol deputy after a drug investigation.

The sheriff's office says it booked 36-year-old Terry D. Cederholm II on one felony count of possession of schedule IV drugs and two misdemeanor counts of possessing drugs without a prescription.

Cederholm joined the sheriff's office in 2007 and worked in corrections. After leaving the sheriff's office in 2009, he rejoined in 2014. In addition to corrections, Cederholm was assigned to court security, and most recently, criminal patrol.

The sheriff's office says it has consulted with the district attorney's office, and the investigation is ongoing.
