A drug suspect who suffered a medical emergency after being taken into custody, caused a minor scare Friday when he abruptly left a hospital still wearing the jail-house stripes he was issued.

Video later posted on St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's social media showed Brandon Ball fleeing the hospital.

According to a release from the Sheriff's Department, Ball was being booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail when he suffered a medical emergency, requiring his transport to a local area hospital.

While at the hospital for a non-life threatening medial complaint, Ball was issued a summons/notice to appear in the 22nd Judicial Court for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ball was apparently uncooperative with the staff at the hospital and chose to leave against the advice of the hospital.

He left without changing into his own clothing.

The release says Ball was never a danger to the public at large or the local community.

Sheriff's deputies ultimately caught up with Ball sometime later and retrieved the recovered the jail striped clothing.
