
Stocks finished mostly higher today, with the Dow Jones Industrials faring better than the other indexes.

It has closed hundreds of stores in recent years, but Sears next month will open three smaller stores that will focus on tools, appliances and lawn & garden equipment -- one of them over in Lafayette. The new stores, called Sears Home & Life, will be about a tenth of the size of a typical Sears department store.
