Stocks finished mostly higher a day after the market’s biggest decline of the year. The Dow Industrials recouped 100 points and the S&P 500 edged up 7, but the Nasdaq Composite slipped 7 points.
The Superdome will be getting $450 million in renovations. The financing plans were approved by the State Bond Commission. The improvements will be made over the next three off-seasons and be completed before New Orleans hosts Super Bowl 58 in early 2024.
Identity theft is still a concern, and a new study by 24/7 Wall Street shows that it’s a pretty serious problem in Louisiana! The Pelican State finished 16th on the list in terms of ID-theft complaints: 111 per 100-thousand people. Total losses were $28.6 million in the state last year.
Oil prices fell for a second-straight session in the wake of continued concerns about global demand. September crude dropped 1.4% to settle at $54.45 a barrel
