Stocks held to a narrow range and finished with very slight losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 3 points, the Nasdaq Composite eased 4, and the S&P 500 dipped 6.
Shares of Textron rallied 4%. The plane and helicopter maker this morning reported better than expected first-quarter earnings.
A big gainer for a second-straight day: Qualcomm. The shares soared 23% yesterday and added 12% today following the news Tuesday afternoon that it won a major victory in its wide-ranging legal dispute with Apple.
Oil futures eased today. May crude dipped 29 cents to settle at $63.76 a barrel.
Even at the workplace … texting is in, and email is on the way out. maybe! A new survey by ‘Burner’ finds that nearly half of workers say they respond to texts within 5 minutes. Also, some 70% of respondents say that in the last five years, at least some work matters have shifted from email to text. Many say texts offer better speed and efficiency.
