The man wanted in the carjacking of a pregnant woman who was unloading groceries in Chalmette has surrendered to authorities.
18-year-old Dedric Hurst turned himself in to authorities Friday afternoon.
Hurst reportedly stole the vehicle as its owner, a woman seven months pregnant, was unloading groceries from her car in the 3500 block of Kings Drive.
To make matters worse, Hurst is said to have struck his victim with her car while making the getaway.
His ride didn’t last long as Hurst reportedly dumped the car a few blocks away with the two children still secured in their car seats, unharmed.
