A man wanted by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in a double-murder in a Marrero home has surrendered. The shootings killed a little girl, and left a young boy and an adult suffering from gunshot wounds.
A spokesman for the sheriff's office says 22-year-old Malik McGinnis turned himself in this afternoon.
Deputies took another suspect into custody this morning: 23-year-old Everette Campbell.
Sheriff Joe Lopinto told WWL's Tommy Tucker that an argument in the home in the 3000 block of Sorbonne Drive turned deadly late last night.
"I believe it was a person that they knew that they got into an argument with," Sheriff Lopinto said. "It was not a home invasion, it was not necessarily a drug deal, it was a person that was staying at their residence."
The sheriff said the other two victims were hospitalized.
"They had an eleven year old juvenile male that was also shot in the arm and another adult that was shot in the abdomen," the sheriff said. "Both of those are stable now."
