A New Orleans man faces aggravated assault charges after State Police say he threatened another man with a sword in the French Quarter.
"Troopers were on pro-active vehicle patrol in the 600 block of Royal Street when they began to hear individuals yelling and screaming," reads the Louisiana State Police news release. "Troopers immediately observed Fisher holding a sword in his right hand."
The statement said 42-year-old Travis Fisher had raised the sword in an aggressive manner towards the other man. Troopers told Fisher to drop the sword, and he complied without further incident.
The Times-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate reports Fisher claimed he caught the other man urinating on a building at the corner of Royal and Orleans and was trying to get him to stop.
Fisher was issued a municipal court summons for aggravated assault. The other man, identified as 28-year-old Miles Morn, was issued a summons for lewd conduct.
