The taproom at Dixie Brewing Company opens today for all beer lovers, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.

The new brewery is located near the Industrial Canal in New Orleans East. On Friday, there will be three local bands performing at the brewery’s outside beer garden.

“We are re-opening to the public this Thursday with careful consideration for the phase 1 guidelines. Our team has taken precautions to ensure all guests feel comfortable while at our facility and we are still offing to-go service for those who prefer a carry-out option. Outdoor seating options are marked with helpful flags that have been spaced at least 10 feet apart, and guests are also welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets” said General Manager Jim Birch. “We are really lucky to have such a large outdoor area that our guests are free to explore – whether sitting by the lake, under a Satsuma tree, playing corn hole or throwing a (sanitized) bocce ball!”

Here is a list of the bands playing and days they will perform:

  • Friday: Alex McMurray and Glenn Hartman – Kings of a Small Time
  • Saturday: Jake Eckert – New Orleans Suspects
  • Sunday: Dave Jordan and Rurik Nunan

Dixie Brewery will also release a new craft beer called Ya’ Heard?, which is described as “a German-inspired Keller Pilsner brewed with craft pilsner malt and “noble” Saaz hops – and clocking in at 5.0% ABV.  The beer followed a traditional 28day laggering process in order to accentuate the crisp malt profile.”

Hours of operation following the re-opening will be Thursday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
