Temps to drop behind cold front and rain today

Cover Image

Get ready for another big change in the weather.

"A strong cold front will move through today," WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum explained.  "It will bring a squall line of strong to possibly severe storms across Southeast Louisiana."

He says that will last through the early afternoon.

"Damaging winds will be the main risk, but we could see a tornado or two.  Stay weather aware today!"

High temperatures ahead of the cold front will be in the upper 60s, but they will fall to around 50 by this evening.

"Tonight will become clear and cold with lows in the lower 30s north and upper 30s south. "

Thursday and Friday will be sunny and chilly each day.

"A reinforcing dry cold front will sweep through on Friday. High temperatures will be in the 50s and lows in the 30s. A light freeze can be expected each night north of the lake. "
