Tentative Mardi Gras schedule set for Metairie

Jefferson Parish has tentatively set up its Mardi Gras 2021 parade schedule, The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate reports.

Beginning with the Little Rascals children's parade  on January 31, the schedule was set for twelve parades through Fat Tuesday's Krewe of Argus and subsequent truck parades.

According to the report, some New Orleans-based parades have made inquiries about parading in Jefferson if the city does not issue permits. A meeting of the New Orleans Mayor's Office Mardi Gras advisory council is set for tonight.

Whether Mardi Gras parades can happen next year is an open question.

If they can, Jefferson has set the following parade calendar:
  • Little Rascals, Sun., Jan. 31, noon
  • Adonis, Sat., Feb. 6, 11:45 a.m.
  • Excalibur, Fri, Feb. 5, time to be announced
  • Madhatters, Sat., Feb. 6, time to be announced
  • Centurians, Sat., Feb. 6, time to be announced
  • Atlas, Sun., Feb. 7, time to be announced
  • Kings, Sun., Feb. 7, time to be announced
  • Athena, Sun., Feb. 14, time to be announced
  • Pandora, Sun., Feb. 14, time to be announced
  • Argus, Mardi Gras, Feb. 16, 10 a.m.
  • Elks Truck parade, Feb. 16, follows Argus
  • Jefferson Truck parade, Feb. 16, follows Argus
