Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested 3 in connection with a home invasion and robbery.
The incident happened early this morning around 2 a.m. Deputies responded to an armed robbery on the 600 block of Linda Anne Street in Gray. It was learned that earlier in the morning four masked suspects armed with AR-15 rifles and pistols forced entry, tied up the occupants and ransacked the residents.
Shortly after a patrol officer observed a vehicle fitting a description given in the parking lot of The Landings apartments, where a suspect was believed residing, and saw weapons, explosives and other items through the vehicle window. An attempt was made to contact the suspect at an apartment. TPSO SWAT was activated. Louisiana State Police assisted as well. Occupants of several apartments were evacuated as a precaution. Deputies learned that an individual had made entry to one apartment through the attic of another apartment, and conducted a search.
Arrests were made of three individuals, LeRoyce James Cormier, 20 and Labaron Lee, 26, both of Gray, and Emile J.C. Thomas, 32, of New Orleans for armed robbery with a firearm and for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. This case is still under investigation and other charges may be pending.
“Their joint efforts solved a serious crime, kept innocent people safe and took dangerous criminals as well as some deadly weapons off the streets in a matter of hours,” Sheriff Larpenter said. “I am very proud of all they have done. I also wish to thank the Louisiana State Police for their prompt response and assistance.”
