Tigers' rally falls short against #2 Mississippi State Bulldogs

LSU has lost another series opener.

The Tigers trailed Mississippi State, 6-2 for much of the game Thursday night, before mounting a rally

LSU closed the gap to 6-5 going into the ninth inning.

Antoine Duplantis was on first base with two outs in the top of the ninth. He was thrown out when he attempted to steal second to end the game.

The Tigers scored their five runs on  nine hits.

The Bulldogs' 6 runs came on 11 hits.

#17 LSU falls to 17-9 overall, 4-3 in the SEC.

#2 Mississippi State is now 24-3 overall, and 5-2 in the SEC
