Tonight's Uptown New Orleans parades, Babylon, Chaos, and Muses, will begin a half hour earlier than scheduled, hoping to beat the rain.
"The National Weather Service reports that rain associated with an unsettled flow pattern from the West will continue to cause rain and some storms in the New Orleans area throughout the next few days," according to the statement from the city of New Orleans. "The rest of the day today is forecast to be mostly cloudy with a 60 to 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening."
Babylon will start rolling at 5 p.m., Chaos will follow at 5:45, and Muses will step off at 6 p.m.
CITY ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO THURSDAY PARADE SCHEDULE DUE TO RAIN POTENTIAL
NEW ORLEANS — Today, the City of New Orleans announced changes to tonight’s parade schedule. Due to rain in the forecast, the three evening parades -- including Babylon, Chaos, and Muses -- will now roll thirty minutes earlier than originally scheduled.
- Krewe of Babylon now to roll at 5:00 p.m. (originally scheduled for 5:30 p.m.)
- Knights of Chaos now to roll at 6:00 p.m. or following Babylon (originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m.)
- Krewe of Muses now to roll at 6:00 p.m. or following Chaos (originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m.)
