Trader Joe's grocery store in Metairie reopened today, after spending two days shut down for cleaning. The cleaning was prompted when two employees tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

"We have made sure all Crew Members at the respective locations have been informed and understand the steps to take to best safeguard the health of their communities," the company said on its web site. Trader Joe's paid its employees for their scheduled shifts while the store was closed.

The Metairie store isn't the only one in the Trader Joe's chain to temporarily close because of the pandemic. As of today, the company lists six stores, five in the northeast and one in the midwest, closed because one or more employees tested positive for the virus.
