More than a hundred people were at the downtown New Orleans riverfront to protest President Trump as he spoke at the American Farm Bureau Convention.
Chanting "Who Dat say they gonna stop dat Trump? We dat," they gathered at the Algiers ferry landing to demonstrate against President Trump.
Some of the demonstrators, like Earl Pratz, said they fear an emergency declaration to secure funding for a border wall will take funds away from project vital to Louisiana.
"If he decides to declare an emergency, he's going to take money from the Corps of Engineers," Pratz said. "The Corps of Engineers supports flood control in this area."
"We are appalled that Donald Trump would use the national emergency mechanism for his manufacture emergency," said Ursula Price, who helped organize the protest. "We are angry."
