Tulane football hosts Florida International tonight at Yulman Stadium in Uptown New Orleans.
"We're very, very excited about the opening game here at Tulane on Thursday night at seven 'o clock playing Florida International," Head Coach Willie Fritz said. "I think our guys are ready to play somebody else. It's been a long preseason."
Fritz enters his fourth year with the Green Wave with high expectations and a challenging schedule.
"We want to be a national program and in order to do that, you've got to play people."
The non-conference schedule includes tonight's battle with FIU, next Saturday at Auburn and then Missouri State and Army West Point.
In 2018, Fritz guided Tulane to its fifth bowl victory in 125 years, a share of the American Athletic Conference title and just its sixth winning season in the last 37 years.
