St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Deputies arrested two car theft suspects in LaPlace after leading deputies on a chase down Belle Terre Boulevard Wednesday.
Authorities say deputies attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, but the driver sped away instead.
In a video released by the sheriff's office the vehicle is seen running a red light before hitting a parish vehicle then jumping the median and crashing into a street light. The driver jumped out of the vehicle and takes off running through traffic trying to escape police.
Earlier in the chase the passenger had jumped out of the moving vehicle.
