New Orleans Police are investigating two overnight armed robberies involving cab drivers.
The incidents took place about five hours apart.
Police say the first armed robbery occurred near Monticello Avenue and the Earhart Expressway around midnight.
After a cab driver took three men to that location, one of the suspects put a gun to the back of the driver's head. The suspect demanded his money, car keys and cell phone. The cab driver complied and the suspects then fled on foot.
Police say the second armed robbery took place near South Carrollton Avenue and South Claiborne Avenue around 4:45 a.m.
The cab driver in this incident also picked up three men who demanded the cab driver's money. The driver complied, and the suspects fled northbound on foot, according to police.
Police described the suspects in both incidents as three unknown black men, however it is not known at this time if the two incidents are related.
