Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto's office says gunfire around 10:00pm claimed two lives Wednesday night and sent two more people to the hospital. One of the dead and one of the injured are children.
"The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a multiple shooting incident that has left 2 dead and 2 additional people wounded," Captain Jason Rivarde said in a news release. "Deputies responded to a 911 call stating a male had been shot in the 3000 block of Sorbonne Drive in Marrero."
He says arriving deputies located four victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a home.
"Two victims, an unidentified adult male and unidentified juvenile female, were pronounced dead on scene. The other two victims, an unidentified adult male and anunidentified juvenile male, were transported to a local hospital for treatment."
Investigators believe an argument inside the residence between two adult males led to the shooting.
"Our investigators do have several leads that they are actively working. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call our Homicide Section at 504-364-5300 or contact Crimestoppers."
