New Orleans Police says a woman being robbed refused to comply with the criminals accosting her.
It happened on First Street near St. Charles Avenue.
"Two Unknown black males were standing in the 1500 Blk of First St. when the victim walked by and was approached by one of the males who attempted to take the victim’s purse," NOPD reported in the Major Offense Log. "The victim and suspect began to fight over her purse when she was punched in the face by the suspect."
Cops say she continued to struggle with one of the suspects until the purse strap broke.
"The suspect did not get her purse."
Investigators say both suspects then fled.
In another case, a man reported he was in the 5500 block of Eads Street off Franklin Avenue when he was held up at gunpoint.
"The victim was approached by the suspect who got out of the passenger side of a black sedan," the report explained. "The suspect demanded the victims belongings, the victim refused and started running."
NOPD says the suspect chased the victim, telling him to stop or he would shoot him.
"After a brief chase the suspect got back inside the black sedan and fled the location in an unknown direction."
