The day for the romantics is fast approaching. Valentine's Day is only a week away, and the countdown is on.
The Louisiana Restaurant Association's Vice President of Communications, Wendy Waren says Valentine's Day is a popular holiday to dine out.
"One quarter of all Americans are destined for restaurants this Valentine's Day but Mother's Day still holds the title as the most popular holiday to dine out," Waren said.
She says it's a good idea to plan ahead if you are dining out because restaurants will be packed.
"I would say if you are interested in going to a fine dining establishment, you definitely want to let them know you are coming," Waren noted. "Otherwise if you are hitting up a casual spot in your neighborhood or across town, you might want to eat a little bit earlier, perhaps in order to cut down on your wait time."
And who usually picks their romantic spot to eat?
"I don't know the answer to that, but personally I am making the reservations for us to eat out for Valentine's Day," Waren laughed.
Waren said they are also encouraging restaurants to be ready for marriage proposals, just in case.
