The man who filmed the killing of Ahmaud Aubery is now facing felony murder and criminal imprisonment charges.  The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced today.

The family of the victim, released the following response on word of William “Roddie” Bryan arrest:

"The family of Ahmaud Arbery was relieved to learn that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has today taken William 'Roddie' Bryan into custody. We called for his arrest from the very beginning of this process. His involvement in the murder of Mr. Arbery was obvious to us, to many around the country and after their thorough investigation, it was clear to the GBI as well.  The family of Mr. Arbery is thankful for the diligence of the GBI and they way in which they tirelessly pursued the evidence in this case. We want anyone who participated in the murder of Mr. Arbery to be held accountable."

Video showed the pursuit of Arbery by Greg McMichael and his son Travis for more than four minutes before the deadly confrontation took place.

Following the fatal incident more than two months passed as prosecutors recused themselves from the case because of Greg McMichael’s previous association with the court.

Surveillance video from the property Aubery was spotted checking out purportedly shows the McMichaels minutes later attempting to cut off Aubery as he ran down Burford Drive through the neighborhood where they lived.

Bryan reportedly released the video he shot with his cell phone in an attempt to clear the McMichaels.

The video goes against the initial claim by Gregory McMichael that Aubery attacked his son before he was fatally shot in February.

Defense attorney’s for the McMichaels say there were two separate incidents which lead up to the fatal shooting.

Meanwhile, the family of Ahmaud Aubery maintain the killing was racially motivated.

To that Attorney Franklin Hogue, who represents Gregory McMichael stated, “The truth will reveal this is not just another act of violent racism.”
