
New Orleans Police Homicide Investigators are being kept busy this first weekend of Lent.
Five shootings, two people dead another three injured all victims shot multiple times.
All three shootings were within a mile to a mile-and-a-half of each other.
It began Saturday morning at Abundance and Elysian Fields in St. Roch.
Officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was pronounced dead on scene.
Just before 5pm at North Tonti and St. Anthony, in the Seventh District, three people were shot multiple times.
One person was reportedly shot in the jaw.
All three were taken to a hospital.
One of the victims was pronounced dead from their wounds.
And at the Franklin Food Mart on Almonaster, in the Fifth District a late afternoon shooting.
One many was gunned down in a hail of gunfire.
WWL-TV reports counting at least a dozen evidence markers denoting shell casings at the scene.
Superintendent of Police Shaun Ferguson is asking for the public's help.
