LSU basketball coach Will Wade speaking to the media for the fist time since his suspension in March said it's been a difficult couple of months for LSU and the basketball program.
Wade said that he hopes to rebuild any lost trust and that he wished he had better handled his suspension.
He said he could not go into detail about what was said with school officials during and after his suspension.
Wade was suspended by LSU for over a month after Yahoo Sports and ESPN reported leaked contents of wiretapped phone conversations between Wade and Christian Dawkins, a basketball middleman and aspiring sports agent.
The wiretap reportedly had them talking about "the Smart thing" and a "strong-ass offer" for a recruit which the latter appeared to be a reference to LSU guard Javonte Smart, then a star player at Baton Rouge's Scotlandville High.
Wade added that, "everything you can think of was addressed in the meeting with LSU and the NCAA."
