Warm and muggy weather will be with us this weekend and most of next week.
WWL-TV meteorologist Chris Franklin says we'll see temperatures near 80 degrees through Thursday.
"But, the warm temperatures and an increase in humidity will also mean the return of rain," says Franklin.
Rain chances are only 20 percent for Saturday, but will increase to 40 percent Sunday and Monday.
"This is thanks to a front which will stall near our area. The front will move back northward, reducing rain chances for Tuesday and Wednesday with another front moving in for Thursday and Friday," Franklin says.
"By Friday, we should see a shift in the upper pattern to push a cold front through the area for Saturday and St. Patrick's Day. Models right now hint we may see morning showers, but clear out for the Irish Channel parade."
With the temperatures expected for the next few days, it looks like we may have put winter behind us and can start to welcome spring.
