Warm weather has returned to southeast Louisiana.
Friday morning started out some 15 to 20 degrees warmer than Thursday. And, the warmer air will stay with us throughout the day, pushing temperatures back into the mid 70s. There is a slight chance of a stray shower today.
Tonight will be cloudy and cool with patchy fog. Lows will be in the 60s.
WWL-TV weather expert, meteorologist Dave Nussbaum, says we should be unseasonably warm through the weekend.
"We'll be mostly cloudy and humid Saturday, with only a slight chance for a shower and a high near 80."
"Rain chances increase on Sunday, about a 50 percent probability of scattered showers and storms. We don't expect the storms to be severe, but we could see some Sunday downpours," says Nussbaum. "High temperatures will stay around 80."
More scattered showers are possible Monday, and highs will drop to the mid 70s. Then, we'll return to near 80 through Thursday, with on-and-off showers. Temperatures drop on Friday, with more thunderstorms and much colder temperatures for St. Patrick's Day weekend.
