The Baton Rouge woman who won a million bucks in the Louisiana Lottery didn't know she'd won until her sister-in-law tagged her on facebook.  Lala Singleton plays the lottery infrequently and usually checks her numbers when she remembers.

Her sister-in-law in Connecticut tagged her after hearing the winner bought the winning ticket at Charge Up 47, where Lala shops.  She tagged Lala in a news story post about the winning ticket being sold in Baton Rouge.  “Once I checked my ticket, I just flipped out!” she told Lottery officials. “I made my boss and coworkers double check!”

Lala won!  Choosing the lump sum amount, she'll receive $710-thousand after state and federal taxes.   “It’s been a stressful year,” Lala says.  Lala told the Lottery she has big plans for the windfall.  With help from her financial advisor, Lala and her husband will pay off debts, contribute to their kids college fund and donate to a charity.

“It has just been one thing after another lately… but joy comes in the morning!”

Charge Up 47, the store where Lala played her numbers, will receive a 1% bonus or $10,000 for their part in selling the big winning ticket.

The winning numbers for the June 22 Powerball drawing were 03-06-11-14-66 and the Powerball was 21.
