The re-broadcast of the New Orleans Saints 2006 home opener against the Atlanta Falcons drew big ratings in New Orleans.
According to WDSU's Fletcher Mackel, the ESPN rebroadscast drew a 10.9 in the ratings in New Orleans which equates to about 70,000 households.
The 23-3 Saints win was the first game played in the Superdome following the destruction caused by Hurriane Katrina. During that matchup, Steve Gleason blocked Atlanta's opening punt and the play came to symbolize the city's drive to rebuild following following the storm.
