Former Nicholls State running back, and son of a New Orleans Saints legend, Dalton Hilliard Jr. died at age 29, the school announced Monday.
Hilliard Jr. played four seasons with the Colonels from 2010-13. Prior to Nicholls State he was a standout player for the Brother Martin Crusaders, where he scored 20 touchdowns as a senior. Hilliard Jr. is the son of New Orleans Saints and LSU legend Dalton Hilliard.
His father played eight seasons in New Orleans and is third on the franchise's all-time rushing list.
