Mr. B’s Bistro celebrated its 40th anniversary this week.
The restaurant opened July 17, 1979 and as part of the celebration features a three-course pre-fixed lunch menu for $19.79 including a bottomless champagne option for $20.19.
Mr. B’s was opened by the Brennan Family with the goal of providing quality food and service in a more casual setting, managing partner Cindy Brennan said.
Brennan said the restaurant’s longevity is a testament to its staff.
“We’ve all worked together fro quite a long time,” she said. “After Katrina, we had to close for 594 days and the fact that we are still going strong is a terrific feeling.”
The restaurant is running the special lunch menu through through Sunday.
