LSU started slow Saturday night against Arkansas, but finished very strong as the Tigers rolled to a 56-20 victory.

After a sluggish first quarter, which ended with LSU (11-0, 7-0) leading by just four, the Tigers offense exploded thanks in part to another outstanding performance from national award finalists Joe Burrow, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Ja’Marr Chase.

Burrow how played just over a half and completed 23 of his 28 passes for 327 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those scores went to Chase who finished with 144 yards on six catches.

Edwards-Helaire had one of his most productive games of the season. He rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns on just six carries. He also caught a game-high seven passes for 65 yards in the win.

His performance Saturday night put him over the 1,000 yards rushing this season making him the 14th LSU running back to accomplish the feat.

He also help LSU become the first SEC team to have a 4,000-yard passer (Burrow), two 1,000-yard receivers (Chase and Justin Jefferson) and a 1,000 yard rusher.

Edwards-Helaire’s fellow running backs also found the end zone Saturday night as Tyrion Davis-Price had a two-yard score and John Emery Jr. finished with 42 yards and a touchdown.

LSU wraps up its regular season next week with a 6 p.m. matchup against Texas A&M in Tiger Stadium.
