NFL Draft 2020: 5 things to know from rounds 2, 3

Here’s five things to know from Day 2 of the NFL Draft: 1. The Saints made moves

The New Orleans Saints made two trades Friday night, The first send a 2021 third-round pick to Cleveland Browns in exchange for swapping this year’s third round picks and a 2020 seventh.

The Saints used the earlier pick to select Wisconsin linebacker Zach Baun who Sean Payton thought initially would’ve been off the board by the end of the second round.

The Saints later packaged that pick along with their fourth, fifth and sixth rounder selections in a trade with the Vikings to move up and select Dayton tight end Adam Trautman.

After that move the Saints were left without any selections on day three of the 2020 NFL Draft. 2. Saints draft picks have similar backgrounds

Despite Saints Executive Vice President and General Manager Mickey Loomis describing this as a deep draft class, the Saints did not take a receiver in the first three rounds.

However a record 13 pass catchers were taken in rounds one and two beating the previous record of 12 set in 2014.

4. LSU up to 10 drafted players

With four more rounds to go, the Tigers have already matched a school record with 10 drafted prospects. The 10 selections also matched Ohio State’s 2016 mark for most buy a single school in the first three rounds of a draft.

So far Joe Burrow, K’Lavon Chaisson, Justin Jefferson, Patrick Queen, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Grant Delpit, Kristian Fulton, Damien Lewis, Lloyd Cushenberry and Jacob Phillips have all been selected.
