The Pelicans needed a win Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive.
But, even after New Orleans' 122-113 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, they still had a chance of making it to the play-in game — that was until Portland's win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Trailblazer's win officially eliminated New Orleans from playoff contention.
The Pelicans have gone 2-4 in the NBA's bubble and have struggled with slow starts and turnovers throughout the seeding games.
The Pelicans are still scheduled to play the Sacramento Kings, who were also eliminated Tuesday.
