Jameis Winston on Saints: 'It's like a Harvard education in quarterback school'

The New Orleans Saints officially announced the signing of quarterback Jameis Winston Tuesday afternoon. The former Heisman Trophy winner joined fellow Florida State alum Charlie Ward on Instagram live later that day and expressed his excitement to join the franchise.

"Being a part of the New Orleans Saints, being with Drew Brees, Taysom Hill, coach Sean Payton, coach Joe Lombardi coach Pete Carmichael... when you think about that room, it's like a Harvard education in quarterback school," Winston told Ward.

Winston, who posted career-highs of an NFL-leading 5,109 yards to got with 33 touchdowns in 2019, discussed his decision to join the Saints saying he wanted to put his ego and money aside in order to find a situation that would help him take the next step in his career.

"There was no better position than to be in the same room with someone I’ve really looked up to, I’ve admired since I’ve been playing this game in Drew Brees," Winston said.
