With NOPD Chief Michael Harrison leaving New Orleans for Baltimore, I got to thinking about how hard it is to make a major move to an entirely different part of the country.
So, I wanted to know from our listeners, what - if anything- it would take to get them to relocate out of New Orleans / Louisiana.
I said that if I were to ever leave, I would have to make enough money and have enough time to be able to travel back to Louisiana most weekends and every holiday because I have grown children, and if they are not going with me, I would have to be able to come back and see them all the time. Even then, the opportunity would have to be just amazing and make me stupid rich.
Many people said they just couldn't do it unless they were forced to leave:
- Sorry can't leave Louisiana it's in my blood
- Not enough money in the world never
- Money will make you leave your city but for how long is the question...?
- I could easily make double in other places in my line of work. I just love being on the gulf coast with all my family. It would take generational changing money.
- A rich Beautiful women
- I went to Miami for four months. Came right back
- For every vacation or whatever reason I visit another city , after a few days I'm always ready to come back home ... So no amount of money or job could get me to leave
- I have lived in over 30 states for at least a short time chaseing money. And i can say there is no place like home.
- Let Louisiana in 1987 for job in Connecticut,by 1992 moved back, missed the food too much,we have the greatest food ever,no job or amount of money could make me leave again

- Only way I'm leaving is of another hurricane makes me. Lived I'm Baltimore for 6 years. Came back in 2011
- Few years back was offered nearly double my salary to move to Pennsylvania. Turned it down. Honestly I wouldn't even move to New Orleans!! Love living on the bayou!
- I left and went to Washington DC and Fort Lauderdale Florida chasing jobs following up on my career and you can't replace with New Orleans Has. But until you do it and leave, you really don't know what you will miss.
- Nothing could make me leave Louisiana. Franklinton is to good to leave.
- Travelling the world and living in other places, now you couldn't pay me enough to leave Louisiana.
Others texted 870870 with specific conditions:
- It would take to move a lot a lot of money
- A hot chick will make me move
- What would it take for me to relocate? Two words...recreational marijuana

I grew up in Metairie raised my girls in Lafayette and Mandeville. New Orleans and Lafayette both have my heart but I would move in a second to be near my children.
- Job in a place where there are four seasons, colorful autumns, mountains and White Christmases.
- My dream is to be a farmer. If someone were to give me a few thousands acres and equipment, I would up and leave.
- My wife and I same mortgage same style house secure careers like we have now in a beach town we are out of here
