Deuce McAllister: The Eagles emotional ride into the playoffs will catch up to them

For the better part of six weeks, since the Saints beat the Eagles 48-7 on November 18th, Philadelphia has been playing win or go home football.  The Eagles responded with three straight wins against the Rams, Texans and Redskins to get in the playoffs, and a fourth straight nail biter against the Bears in the post-season.  Sunday will mark the fifth time in the last six weeks Philly will play on the road.  “At some point the emotion and travel catches up to you,” points out Saints color analyst Deuce McAllister. The Eagles are the defending Super Bowl Champions. With that comes a lot of pride and an equal amount of pressure. Deuce thinks it’s just a matter of time with the Saints.  McAllister would like to see the Saints jump on the Eagles quickly and put them away. “If the Saints score fast and gain momentum early on, look out. The key is to own the game early. What we don’t want to see is a slow start. When Philly can hang around, once the emotion of the moment wears off, then they can really play.  But, if the Saints go up by double digits, I don’t know if Philly will have the energy to pull off a big comeback late in the game,“ McAllister added. The Saints are heavy favorites over the Eagles, by 8.5 points, but that doesn’t matter unless you have money on the game. What matters is a win...by 3 points, 7 points, 1 point. There’s one goal - the NFC Championship. Kick off for the Saints vs Eagles Divisional Round Playoff is set for 3:40pm Sunday. Our coverage on WWL, the flagship station of the Saints, starts at 11am. Time for the 12th man to show up big time. WHO DAT!
