How much longer will Drew Brees play?

That’s a big question bandied about these days amongst analysts and the Who Dat Nation faithful.  Some whispers of Brees riding off into the sunset if the Saints win the Super Bowl, have fans on edge.  A few years ago Drew Brees said he feels like he could play until he’s 45.

On his 40th birthday I asked him if he still thinks he can do that.  His answer, “I feel like I could.  Whether I will…we’ll see.  I’m not too worried about that right now.  I’m just focused on winning this game so we can keep moving on,” Brees responded.

What Drew Brees has accomplished in his 19 seasons in the NFL has him destined for Canton Ohio in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the first ballot.  But, Drew Brees doesn’t sound like a guy who’s thinking about retirement.

“Being in the locker room keeps me young, that’s for sure.  Our lockers are right next to the DB’s; most of them are second or third year players.  They keep me up on the current stuff, music and styles.  I have to stay on top of my game with the young fellas,” Brees said.

Here’s to Drew playing until he’s 45! Enjoy what you’re witnessing, Saints fans.  This is a once in a lifetime quarterback we get to watch each and every Sunday.
