As we continue to digest the “no-call” pass interference that cost the Saints a trip to the Super Bowl, here are a couple of interesting connections worth thinking about. Take a little trip down conspiracy lane if you will.
Where is Super Bowl 53? Atlanta
Who is the owner of the Atlanta Falcons? Arthur Blank
Who is the chairman of the finance committee in the NFL? Arthur Blank
Who pays NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and decides on how much he gets paid? The finance committee
Who is the chairman of the competition committee? Rich McKay, once an executive with the Atlanta Falcons
Who is the Saints biggest rival? The Falcons
Who is the General Manager of the Los Angeles Rams? Les Snead
Where did Snead work before landing the Rams gig? Atlanta
What does all this mean? I’m not entirely sure it directly points to a conspiracy, but I am also not totally sure that it’s all above board either. There is a lot that stinks right now with this “no call” situation in the NFL. Could all those ties to Atlanta just be coincidence? Sure, but that is a lot to process. I typically am one of the first to step on a good conspiracy theory, but the more you look into this situation it’s really difficult to dismiss the idea that someone conspired to keep the Saints out of the Super Bowl in what appears to be pretty blatant fashion.
