Last week's positive vibes and three-game winning streak quickly dissolved over the weekend as the Pelicans learned just how far they have to go to compete with the NBA's better teams.
The Pelicans played back-to-back games on the road, and in both, started off extremely slow. First on Saturday in Salt Lake City, then again Sunday night in Los Angeles.
The Pels did mount something of a rally against the Utah Jazz but still came up short 128-120. But against the Clippers, they never could close the gap, falling 134-109.
But, with their three-game road trip behind them, the team gets to come home and regroup. They have the next two nights off before welcoming Anthony Davis back to the Big Easy when they host the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday night.
