The ESPN documentary “The Last Dance” not only detailed the Chicago Bulls dynasty, but also gave us an intimate look at Michael Jordan. Some of ways that MJ would motivate himself reminded many Who Dats of Michael Thomas.

The Saints receiver said he’s watched all the highlights of Jordan and revealed that his father was a big fan.

“He probably instilled a lot of those little things; characteristics and habits that he watched when he saw Jordan,” Thomas said about his dad. “He named me Michael also, his name is Michael. So, there is a lot of things that I feel like we have in common.”

Besides working out during this coronavirus altered NFL offseason, Thomas also said he’s been studying how the greats prepared for their craft.

“You’ll see a lot of key characteristics that they have that others don’t. And, as long as you stick to it, good things will happen.”

Good things like setting the record for most receptions in a single season (149) and most receptions in a player's first four seasons (470). Can’t Guard Mike has also led the league in receptions the past two years and in receiving yards (1,725) a year ago.

“At the end of the day, you just want your respect. I value respect,” said Thomas.  “When you put in the work, I feel like you deserve to think like that and be like that.”
