Running back Dwayne Washington has re-signed with the Saints and is coming back for a 3rd season in New Orleans. He maybe 3rd on the RB depth chart, but also plays a key special teams role on coverage and kickoff units.
“I think is just the organization overall. It's a great place to be. It's a great coaching staff. The players they're great,” Washington said on Sports Talk. “It's one of those organizations that once you get to it, you just want to stay with it forever.”
The 25-year-old was originally drafted in 2016 by the Detroit Lions in the 7th round. The Saints would scoop him up after getting waived in 2018. Where has 6ft, 223 pound runner think he game has improved since entering the NFL 4 years ago?
“I will say just understanding the game. Breaking it down and not thinking about just offense, defense special teams, but more so thinking about situational situations and stuff like that. I just think that my mind has grown into really understanding football more on the professional level that we're at.”
